The grand ceremony of the 2nd Uttarakhand Film Awards 2025, organized by Web Multimedia, was successfully held on 6 December at the Himalayan Cultural Centre, Garhi Cantt. The event witnessed the presence of nearly 500 film personalities and eminent figures from Uttarakhand. The ceremony was inaugurated by the Chief Guest and former Chief Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’. Founder Chairman of the Awards Vinod Gupta, actor Hemant Pandey, producer Mahesh Rajput, show director Pramod Shastri, choreographer Sanjay Korve, along with other dignitaries, congratulated the team for the successful organization of the event. Dr. Nishank stated that such programs give new energy, recognition, and encouragement to films made in Uttarakhandi languages—Garhwali, Jaunsari, and Kumaoni.

This year, 14 feature films were selected across 26 categories. Outstanding films and artists were honoured during the ceremony. On this occasion, Founder Chairman Vinod Kumar Gupta expressed gratitude to all the guests, the Uttarakhand Film Development Council, and especially actor Ramesh Nautiyal. The event has played a significant role in giving new dimensions to Uttarakhand’s regional cinema culture.

 

He said that Uttarakhand cinema is not just entertainment, but a living document of our language, culture, folk art, and heritage. Such events not only boost the morale of artists but also inspire the younger generation to stay connected with their roots. He expressed confidence that in the coming years, films from Uttarakhand will strengthen their identity not only at the national level but also on international platforms.
