Nothing’s bold new Glyph Matrix system is set to debut with its upcoming Phone (3), which launches globally on 1 July at 10:30 PM IST. The device marks a significant evolution in the brand’s design language — and stands as its most ambitious release yet.

Replacing the original Glyph Interface, the Glyph Matrix introduces a dot-matrix-style LED display placed on the back panel. Teased with the phrase “When light becomes language,” the grid-based system signals a major leap forward in expressive functionality.

At its core is the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, the most powerful chipset in a Nothing device to date — delivering up to 36% faster CPU88% stronger GPU, and 60% better NPU performance over Phone (2). “But what it means in practice is it will feel a lot snappier,” said CEO Carl Pei. “People use these products for many hours a day, so for us, it’s about creating a holistic experience.”

Pei also addressed the two-year development cycle: “There’s not much you can do anymore. Smartphones are a mature product category. Why launch a flagship every year?….We thought: let’s take our time. Let’s fix the small things. Let’s actually add something new.”

Joining Phone (3) at the launch is Headphone (1), the brand’s first foray into over-ear audio. The latest Nothing TV episode previewed both devices, shared insights into Phone (3)’s R&D journey, and introduced Essential Space, a content-led initiative aimed at the growing Nothing community.

Phone (3) and Headphone (1) will be officially unveiled on 1 July in London.
